Future Problem Solving

Global Issues

The Global Issues Problem Solving program is a component of the Future Problem Solving Program International that fosters critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills among students. Working in teams of 3-4, participants research and analyze real-world global issues to identify challenges and develop innovative solutions. The program follows a six-step problem-solving process, encouraging students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and consider all of the impacts of their proposed solutions from ethical to environmental and more.

Community Projects

The Community Problem Solving program is a component of the Future Problem Solving Program International that empowers students to identify and address pressing issues within their local communities. Students work in teams to research and analyze community challenges, ranging from environmental concerns to social issues. Through a six-step problem-solving process, they generate innovative solutions while considering ethical, social, and cultural factors. By engaging in CmPS, students gain practical experience in collaborating, implementing action plans, and making a positive impact within their communities.

Scenario Writing/Creative Writing

The Scenario Writing/Creative Writing program is a component of the Future Problem Solving Program International that encourages students to explore and articulate futuristic scenarios related to selected topics for the year. Participants develop their creative writing skills by envisioning how the world might be impacted by emerging issues and changes. Through in-depth research and imaginative thinking, students construct a narrative that illustrates the implications and potential responses to these future situations. Participants have the opportunity to submit their written scenarios for evaluation and recognition, fostering their passion for writing and global awareness.

Scenario Performance/Storytelling

The Scenario Performance/Storytelling program is a component of the Future Problem Solving Program International that encourages students to creatively explore and present futuristic scenarios related to one of the selected global issues topics. It provides a platform for students to develop their storytelling and performance skills by envisioning how the world might be affected by emerging challenges and changes. Participants research potential future scenarios and use their imagination to develop narratives that capture the implications and responses to these situations. Through recorded and live performances, students demonstrate their ability to communicate complex ideas, engage audiences, and offer insightful perspectives on potential future developments.
